Arthur Hiller (footballer)

Arthur Hiller called " Ille " ( born October 3, 1881August 14, 1941 ) was a German football player who played at club level for the 1st FC Pforzheim and played four matches for the German Reich.

Career

Hiller played from 1899 in the first team of the " Club " from the Brötzinger valley of the 1st FC Pforzheim. Together with his older brother William, who came as a left defender on the defensive for use, he moved in 1906 with FC in the final of the German football championship in Nuremberg against VfB Leipzig. Leipzig won the title with a 2-1 gates. Previously Pforzheim had won with a 5-3 win against FC Hanau 93 Süddeutsche championship.

When the DFB in 1908 played his first three official matches, Hiller represented in all three encounters the German colors. He went down in the history of the German national football team was the first team captain. At its debut on April 5, 1908 in Basel against Switzerland, he was a center-half and captain in use. As the national team a year later, on April 4, 1909 in Karlsruhe, in a 1-0 win over Switzerland scored the first victory, the Pforzheim completed his fourth and at the same time last international match. The series starred runners in the cast Karl Burger, Josef Glaser and Arthur Hiller.

With Southern Germany he lost on 25 May 1911 in Berlin with 2:4 goals by extension the final of the Crown Prince Cup against North Germany.
