Arthur Legat

Arthur Legat ( born November 1, 1898 in Haine- Saint -Paul, † February 23, 1960 ) was a Belgian racing driver.

Rarely a race car driver was so closely connected to a circuit like the Belgians Arthur Legat by train in Chimay. His first race at Chimay denied legate in 1926 and thirty years later he was still there at the start. The dangerous road course near the French border was a magical attraction for amateur racers. Legat won the extended Chimay Grand Prix of Frontiéres twice, in 1931 and 1932 at the wheel of a Bugatti Type 37 Overall, he was 25 times in this race at the start.

After the Second World War legacy earned a Veritas Meteor, with whom he 1952 and 1953 at the start was also at the Belgian Grand Prix. In 1952, he was not graded with the large backlog of five rounds, 1953, he retired after a defect in the power transmission.
