Arthur Newell Strahler

Arthur Newell spotlights ( born February 20, 1918 in Kolhapur, India; † 6 December 2002) was an American hydrologist and professor of earth sciences at Columbia University. 1952, he developed a system for classification of river networks, according to the amount of water its tributaries ( river atomic number on lamp ).

Radiator was contributor to the shift of the geomorphology of a descriptive and qualitative science to a quantitative computed and in the middle of the 20th century.

He's namesake and author of the " spotlight " called standard textbook for various aspects of physical geography.
