Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr.

Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr. ( born September 22, 1951 in Mount Kisco, New York) is an American editor and newspaper publisher.

Life

Sulzberger Jr. is from the founding family of the New York Times and took over from his father, Arthur Ochs Sulzberger in 1992 the post of editor and since 1997, the CEO of the company owner. The Sulzberger family is of Jewish descent. His mother was English and Scottish ancestors.

In 1974, Sulzberger Jr., the Tufts University in political science with a bachelor exam from. He then worked for the Raleigh Times in Virginia from 1974 to 1975 as a reporter and then went to 1978 for the Associated Press as a correspondent to London. Since 1978 he worked for The New York Times as a correspondent in their office in Washington DC, from 1981 he was responsible for the issue in New York City, first as a reporter and later in the year as deputy editor. In 1985, he joined the Harvard Business School in the category of Management Development.

Sulzberger learned in the years to know the business and the technical departments at the Times. He was responsible for the planning of the new printers in Edison (New Jersey) and in College Point in Queens, New York. At the same time he developed the expansion of the website of the newspaper and the blog of the New York Times.

From 1975 Sulzberger closed marriage with the artist and journalist Gil Gregg originate a son and a daughter.
