Arthur Sellings

Arthur sellings was the pseudonym of the British scientist, book and art dealer and science fiction author Robert Arthur Gordon Ley, ( born May 31, 1911 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England; † 24 September 1968, Worthing, Sussex, England).

In addition to selling, Ley also wrote under the pseudonyms Ray Luther and Martin Luther. His posthumously published novel Junk Day is regarded as his best work.

Life and career

Ley was born on 31 May 1911 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England, the son of Kent and Stella Grace ( sellings ) Ley. He spent most of his life in his hometown. On 18 August 1945, he married Gladys Pamela Judge.

About his literary activity was also Ley book and art dealer and antiquary. Between 1955 and 1968 he was a scientific advisor to the British government. Some of his works were inspired by his research. His works appeared in Fantastic, Galaxy Science Fiction, Imagination, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, Nebula Science Fiction, New Worlds, New Writings in SF, and Worlds of Tomorrow, and other magazines. Ley died on September 24, 1968 of a heart attack in Worthing, Sussex, England.
