Arthur Shepherd
Arthur Shepherd ( born February 19, 1880 in Paris, Idaho, † January 12, 1958 in Cleveland, Ohio ) was an American composer.
Shepherd studied from 1892 to 1897 at the New England Conservatory in Percy Goetschius and George Chadwick. After that he worked until 1909 as a conductor, pianist and composer in Salt Lake City. Until 1920, he taught at the New England Conservatory and then moved to Cleveland. There he worked as a conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra and taught as a professor at Western Reserve University.
In addition to two symphonies and other works for orchestra he composed chamber music and numerous songs.
