Arto Laatikainen

Arto Laatikainen ( born May 24, 1980 in Espoo ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since 2011 at JYP Jyväskylä in the SM- liiga under contract.

Career

Arto Laatikainen began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the Espoo Blues, for their first team to 2008 he was active from 1998 in the SM- liiga. His greatest success with the team was reaching the runner-up in the 2007/ 08 season. He was honored as the best defender of the league with Pekka - Rautakallio trophy and chosen team in the All-Star. From 2008 to 2010 he played for the Färjestad BK in the Swedish Elitserien. With the FBK he won the Swedish championship title in the 2008/ 09 season.

For the season 2010/11 he moved to Södertälje SK in the Elitserien, with whom he had to accept the descent into HockeyAllsvenskan end of the season. Then he left the team and joined the 2011/12 season the JYP Jyväskylä from his native Finland to.

Internationally

For Finland Laatikainen took at junior level at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1998 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 1999 and 2000 in part. In the U18 European Championship in 1998, he won the silver medal with his team. In the senior level, he stood in the years 2007 and 2008 in the squad of his country at the Euro Hockey Tour.
