Arturo Tabera Araoz

Arturo Cardinal Tabera Araoz CMF ( born October 29, 1903 in Barco de Avila, Spain, † June 13, 1975 in Rome) was archbishop of Pamplona and cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Life

Arturo Tabera Araoz joined the Congregation of the Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and studied in Jerez de los Caballeros and Rome, the subjects Catholic theology and philosophy. In 1928 he received the sacrament of Holy Orders, and then continued his university studies, graduating Canon Law with a doctorate in the subject. He was a member from 1930 to 1946 at the Faculty of Theology School of Zafra and worked as the director of the magazine " illustracion del Clero " in Madrid. In addition, he knew the job of secretary of the study Prefecture his Order and founded the magazine " Vida religiosa ".

In 1946, he was named by Pope Pius XII. Titular Bishop of Lyrbe and appointed him as Apostolic Administrator of Barbastro in Spain. In 1950, he was then Bishop of Albacete. Arturo Tabera Araoz was recorded in 1969 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of San Pietro in Montorio in the College of Cardinals.
