Arturo Vidal

Arturo Erasmo Vidal Pardo ( May 22nd, 1987 in Santiago de Chile) is a Chilean football player who has a contract with Italian giants Juventus since 2011. He plays mainly as a defensive midfielder, but can also be used as an attacking midfielder.

Career
Clubs
In June 2005, Vidal came into the professional squad of CSD Colo -Colo, a Chilean tradition club with which he went through all the youth teams. Here he drew attention to himself with good performance, which also called for European clubs on the scene. In 2006 he won the Chilean Apertura and Clausura championship with the club. The following season Colo -Colo defended the Apertura title. In the summer of 2007, Vidal then decided to switch to other European countries.
Ultimately made the Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen the race. On April 28, 2007 Colo Colo announced the transfer of Vidal Bayer. According to the company Leverkusen had to pay a transfer fee of 5.6 million euros. A clause in the contract implies that Colo- Colo collected in a possible further purchase of the Chileans 30 % of the transfer fee. In Leverkusen, he has signed a contract until 2012. Already in his first year in Germany the defensive player came regularly to missions. His debut in the Bundesliga was Vidal on 19 August 2007 ( 2nd Round ) against Hamburger SV. Already on Matchday 6 he succeeded in a 3-0 away win against Hannover 96 his first league goal for the work of self. In the following years he was a regular at Bayer. He has been used in various positions. 2008/ 09 it reached with the team in the final of the DFB Cup, which they lost against Werder Bremen. In the season 2010/11 Vidal was then used offensive in central midfield, what with ten goals this season also paid off. He was top scorer of Leverkusen, who won the runner-up at the end.
In July 2011, Arturo Vidal was transferred for a transfer fee of 10.5 million Euros to Italian giants Juventus. Already in his first league game Vidal was able to record his first goal for his new employers in a 4-1 win against FC Parma in three days earlier inaugurated Juventus Stadium. In the 2012/13 season Vidal scored in 45 appearances for his club scored 15 goals and won the second league title in a row under coach Antonio Conte.
National
Furthermore, Vidal played for the Chilean U-20 national team. In April 2007, Vidal made his debut in the Chilean national team against Argentina. For the Copa América, he was not appointed by Nelson Acosta in the squad; wanted instead Acosta Vidal can play at the U -20 World Cup in Canada in order to increase the chances of winning the world title. In the U -20 Vidal got a lock with three other players for several games.
In the following years he ran regularly as a regular player and qualified with the team for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, for the defensive all-rounder has been appointed in May 2010 in the cadre of Chileans. During the tournament, Vidal came to four of four possible missions. In the second round the team was eliminated by Brazil. In December 2011, Vidal was suspended by the Chilean Association along with four other players for ten games as they were " back before the World Cup qualifier in Uruguay last month after a free evening late and drunk to the team headquarters ." The suspension Vidal was lifted on 6 May 2012 and he was nominated for the World Cup qualifiers in June in Bolivia and Venezuela.
