Arturs Krišjānis Kariņš

Arturs Krišjānis Kariņš ( born December 13, 1964) is a Latvian politician of the party Vienotība.

Life

Kariņš doctorate in linguistics at the University of Pennsylvania and earned the title of bachelor. From 1994 to 2002 he was managing director of a company. In 2002 he founded the party Jaunais laiks for which he entered the Saeima in the same year. From 2004 to 2006 he was the Latvian Minister of Economics. When Jaunais laiks party he sat for years on the Board from 2007 to 2008, he was even chairman of the party. Before and after his time as minister, he was leader of the JL in Parliament. In 2009 he was elected to the European Parliament.
