Arua

Arua is a town in north-western Uganda, near the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo with about 55,600 inhabitants ( 2005 estimate ). It is the capital of the eponymous district of Arua.

In the city there is a regional airport with daily multiple scheduled flights of several Ugandan domestic airlines flying to Entebbe. Arua is the target or the starting point of all intercity buses from / to Kampala in the northwest of the country. As the economic center of the region is home to many refugees from Sudan and from the DRC and is home to several non-governmental organizations. The bordering region Aru in the north- eastern DR Congo imports a large part of all goods over the city and is responsible for Arua (land ) Vehicles can only be reached from Uganda.
