Arusianus Messius

Arusianus Messius was a late ancient Roman grammarian, who lived in the 4th century AD.

He probably came from upscale ratios and wrote a work called Exempla elocutionum ( style examples), which was dedicated to the consuls of the year 395, Flavius Anicius Hermogenianus Olybrius and Flavius Anicius Probinus. The plant probably served as a tool for the rhetoric lessons and was later used by Cassiodorus. It is of some importance, as it contains numerous alphabetical examples, including those from the histories of Sallust, of which only fragments survive.
