Life

Mardefelt was the son of Field Marshal Conrad Mardefelt. Since 1702, he directed the operations of the Swedish army in western Poland and conquered in 1704 poses. 1706 he distinguished himself at the Battle of woman city.

On October 29, 1706 5,000 10,000 Swedish and Polish soldiers at Kalisch August the Strong stood in the Great Northern War under General Mardefelt to fight. They were completely destroyed by the 35,000- strong Russian, Saxon and Polish troops. The Polish cavalry of Stanislaus Leszczynski I. was dispersed. Mardefelt came together with over 100 officers, among them Polish magnates, in Polish captivity.

After his release from captivity in 1707 Mardefelt died of severe gout.
