Aryabhata (crater)

Aryabhata is an impact crater on the lunar front side, which is almost entirely covered by the lavas of Mare Tranquillitatis up on a wall remaining in the southeast. It is located southeast of Sina (crater ) and southwest of Cauchy.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1979 after the Indian astronomer Aryabhata.
