Aryabhata (satellite)

Aryabhata was the first Indian satellite of the Earth. It was named after the famous Indian mathematician and astronomer Aryabhata and launched on 19 April 1975 with the Soviet Cosmos 3M carrier rocket. The spacecraft studied the stellar and solar X-rays, gamma and neutron radiation of the sun and the particle in the ionosphere.
