Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences

Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences ( ARIES ), named after the Indian astronomer Aryabhatta, since 2004 the name of the early 1950s, founded research institute with affiliated observatories, the Uttar Pradesh State Observatory ( UPSO ) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The largest telescope since 1972 has been the " Sampurnanand " with 104 cm diameter of the Carl Zeiss Jena. For large-area sky observing a Baker - Nunn camera is being modernized.
