Arzu Ece

Arzu Ece (now Arzu Ece Otyam, born 1963 in Istanbul) is a Turkish singer. She represented Turkey twice in the Euro Vision Song Contest.

Life

Your first participation at the competition took place in 1989 in Lausanne as a member of Pan with the song Bana bana.

In 1995, she represented Turkey again. This time she went to solo. Ece sang at the Euro Vision Song Contest 1995 in Dublin ballad Sev (Eng. " love"). She went to the # ten and finished with 21 points to 16th place. In the years 1992 to 1995, the Euro Vision Song Contest for the first time had clearly lost the Turkish audience in popularity, so ECES appearance in Turkey as well as its two predecessors was received largely sober. Added to this was that Turkey had to pause in 1994 and lacked the first time since 1979 in the competition. The first participation of several former Eastern Bloc countries in 1993 had a rule change made necessary after the countries were excluded from participating in the coming year with the fewest points. Turkey was affected because of unsuccessful placement of Burak Aydos 1993. 1996 this rule, however, was modified to clarify that there was a non-public pre-selection round, the "worst" songs eliminated in the experts. Would it still apply the old rule, Turkey would have to pause again after ECES placement in 1996.

After their Euro Vision participate Ece brought in the same year an album out ( sebebi yok ), but that also not noticed in Turkey.

Arzu Ece was equally represented twice in the Turkish preliminary competition for 1995, which was attended by a total of ten songs. On the one with Sev and the other with a ballad duet with pop singer Fatih Erkoç which Sevda (Eng. "Love " ) was called.

The text of Sev wrote Zeynep Talu Kurşuncu, while the music of Melih Kibar was born, who was the composer of the Turkish contribution to date top ranked Halley.

Arzu Ece is now mother and married to the musician Ali Otyam.
