Asadi Tusi

Asadi Tusi ( TUS *, † 1072 ) was a Persian poet and a great epic poet. Tusi was incorrectly referred to as a teacher Ferdousis. Tusi was the author of debates ( Monāzer ), the book Garchasp ( Garchaspnāme ), the best epic Shahnameh after Ferdousis - also writer of panegyrics ( eulogies ), and author of one of the oldest dictionaries in Persian language, in which he rare words and words from the Persian poetry collected ( Loghat -e Fārs ).

Life

At first he lived in Khorasan at the court of the Ghaznavids, later in Azerbaijan at the Prince of the local region. In his major work, the Garchaspnāme, he tells of the adventures Garchasps, the ancestor Rostams. After a list of ancestral sequence he gave detailed reports of his travels and stays in various countries, his struggles there, his interview with Brahman as well as with other ways - also of the manners and customs of foreign nations, which he had visited in conjunction with admonitions and advice at the reader. Its strength lies mainly in the descriptions, the word compilations, his sentence structure and choice of expressive and subtle images.

Erroneously was spoken by some Orientalists long between a son and father relationship between Ferdosi and Tus, which was refuted by Zabihollah Safa.
