Asahi (Chiba)
Asahi (Japanese旭 市, -shi) is a city of Chiba Prefecture in the east of Honshu, the main island of Japan.
Geography
The city is located east of Tokyo on the Boso Peninsula on the Pacific.
History
The city of Asahi was on 1 July 2005 from the merger of the municipalities Hikata (干 泻 町, machi ) in the district of Katori, Iioka (饭 冈 町, machi ) and Unakami (海上 町, machi ) in the district Kaijo. The latter county was thereupon be dissolved.
