Asayish (Kurdistan Regional Government)

The Asayesh or Asayish (Kurdish for security ) is a Kurdish organization which was established in September 1993. It is referred to as a news service, security, intelligence, secret police and others. It is close to the northern Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party. It is at least partly financed by the Central Intelligence Agency. It is subject to the Kurdish National Assembly and the Kurdish regional government.
