Aschach an der Steyr

Aschach on the Steyr is a municipality with 2164 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Upper Austria in the district of Steyr-Land in Traun quarter. The competent court is the district of Steyr.

Geography

Aschach on the Steyr Traun in the district. The expansion is 5.6 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 7.3 km. 16.3% of the area is forested, 73.3 % used for agriculture.

Quarters are Aschach an der Steyr, Steyr Aschach on the north, Haagen, Mitteregg, Wirtenberg, Digging, Leithen and Saaß.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality of Austria above the Enns attributed. Blazon: Azure, over golden Dreienberg two upright, swept to one another, silver Hifthörner with the mouthpiece down, gold fittings and silver cords. The municipality colors are blue - white-green. The three hills symbolize Aschachs the largest mountain high lift. The two Hifthörner in the municipal coat of arms and the inn " emperor in the Saaß " remember September 25, 1732, when Emperor Charles VI took part in a hunt in the forest Saaßer and 80 deer were killed.
