Aschbach, Rhineland-Palatinate

Aschbach is a municipality in the district of Kusel, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Wolfenstein.

Geography

The town lies north of Königsberg in the North Palatine Uplands.

History

Aschbach was first mentioned in 1250 in records. In the 14th century the two villages of Upper and Unteraschbach belonged to the Official Nerzweiler. Oberaschbach went down in the next few centuries, so that only a Aschbach went from two bridges on the Rhine Count Karl von Grumbach Walram in 1755. Previously rulers include the wild and Rhinegraves of Kyrburg and 1595 the Dukes of Pfalz- Zweibrücken.
