Ascq

Ascq is a village in northern France on the border with Belgium. Until the Industrial Revolution, there was a farming community, today it is a district of the city of Villeneuve d'Ascq.

The place was known at the destroyed by the massacre of Ascq in the night of 1 to April 2, 1944 while fighting the 12.SS - Panzer-Division " Hitlerjugend" the whole place and 86 inhabitants were killed.

Ascq has a church, a train station and a memorial. There is also a brewery, a chocolate factory and a football team.

Stock

The municipality was created in 1793 during the French Revolution. 1970 from the three communities Annappes, Flers- lez -Lille and Ascq the newly founded town of Villeneuve d'Ascq.
