Åseral is a Norwegian municipality in Vest- Agder Fylke. It has about 914 inhabitants ( as of March 31, 2013) on an area of ​​888 square kilometers.

Åseral bordered to the west by the province of Aust- Agder, to which the municipality belonged to the late 19th century. In the south it borders the municipality Audnedal, on the southeast by Hægebostad, on the west by Kvinesdal.

The municipality is a well known tourist destination with three ski places: Bortelid, Ljosland Eikerapen. In addition, the Eikerapen Eikerapen Roots Festival takes place every year, an international music festival with thousands of guests from all over Europe.
