ASF Bobo

ASF Bobo- Dioulasso ( Association of sportive fonctionnaires de Bobo-Dioulasso ) is a sports club based in Bobo-Dioulasso, the second largest city of the West African country of Burkina Faso.

Was founded the club on 20 April 1948 by the officials (French fonctionnaires ) OUSSENI Diallo, Arsène Mobio, Tiémoko Camara, André Tall and Raoul Vicens.

The club plays in the colors black and yellow, was twice champion of Burkina Faso (1961, 1966) and was five times the national cup competition win (1986, 1989, 1997, 1998, 2004). The championship of 1961 was the first to be held after the independence of the former Upper Volta.

Participation in the semi-finals of the cup competition of French West Africa, the Coupe d' AOF, 1960 against Étoile Filante de Lomé ( Togo) marked the first major success of a obervoltaischen team. Among the players listed Seydou Bamba, Gilbert Da Silva (Cape Verde) and Bernard Ouedraogo.

The season 2006/ 07 closed from ASF at the 9th rank. 2009 was the descent into the Second Division.

At international competitions the teams of ASF were not very successful, recently took Les Buffles 2005 CAF Confederation Cup part. Here, in the first round scored a 3-0 win against Al -Ittihad (Libya ), but this was followed by a 0-4 defeat in the return leg.

Since the Stade Omnisports de Bobo-Dioulasso is currently in use because of high maintenance costs for league games, ASF plays its home matches at the Stade WOBI.
