Asha Bhosle

Asha Bhosle ( born Asha Mangeshkar, Marathi: आशा भोसले, Asa Bhosle, born September 8, 1933, Satara, Maharashtra ) is an Indian singer. She sings ghazals, bhajans and songs of Rabindranath Thakur and Kazi Nazrul Islam, and is particularly known for her film songs. Together with her ​​elder sister Lata Mangeshkar they dominated the female playback singing of Indian films for more than three decades and took far more than 1000 songs for films in many Indian languages ​​.

Life and career

She grew up in Kolhapur, and received together with her sister Lata classical singing lessons from his father Dinanath Mangeshkar, a theater actor and singer. Her two younger sisters Usha and Hridaynath were singer or composer and singer.

Her film debut was in 1948 with Asha recordings for Ravindra Dave Chunaria, her first solo piece she sang in Raat Ki Rani ( 1949) by Jagdish Sethi.
