Future -oriented decisions

The Ghanaian government as the main shareholder decided in 1994 to sell 20 to 25 percent of their share of the AGC for equity foundation. The corporation newly formed shortly thereafter became listed on the London Stock Exchange ( LSE ) and the Ghana Stock Exchange ( GSE), and was until then the largest AG - establishment of a gold mining company. But the planning and discussion of this project claimed a team of over 200 people. After the good performance of the IPO, each of the more than 10,000 global employees received five shares or securities by the Company.

To ensure new investments, the AGC in 1996 went public on the New York Stock Exchange. Thus she became the first African company on Wall Street.

2004 AGC merged with the South African group AngloGold, a subsidiary of Anglo American plc. Since then called the company AngloGold Ashanti and thus became the world's third largest gold producer.
