Asheville Smoke

The Asheville Smoke was an American ice hockey team from Asheville, North Carolina. The team played from 1998 to 2002 in the United Hockey League.

History

The franchise of Brantford Smoke from the United Hockey League was formed in 1998 relocated from Brantford, Ontario, to Asheville, North Carolina, and renamed Asheville Smoke. After she retired in her first two seasons, respectively, in the first playoff round, the team reached in the 2000 /01 season after the first place in the regular season in the Southeast Division in the playoffs after a bye and wins over Knoxville speed and New Haven Knights the final of the Colonial Cup. In this they failed with 1:4 victories in the best- of-seven series against the Quad City Mallards.

Following the 2001/ 02 season, had missed in the Asheville Smoke the playoffs for the first time, the franchise was dissolved.
