Ashley Spencer (athlete)

Ashley Spencer ( born June 8, 1993) is an American sprinter who specializes in the 400 -meter run.

In 2012 she was starting for the University of Illinois NCAA champion and then won at the Junior World Championships in Barcelona gold in the individual event and in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

The following year she defended her NCAA title and finished third at the U.S. Championships. At the World Athletics Championships 2013 in Moscow she reached the 400m semi-final and won with the U.S. team silver in the 4 x 400 - meter relay.

Ashley Spencer is trained by Tonja Buford - Bailey. Her uncle Steve Smith was successful as a high jumper.
