Ashley Wagner

Ashley Wagner ( born May 16, 1991, Heidelberg, Germany ) is an American figure skater who starts in a single run.

Career

Ashley Wagner was born as the daughter of a U.S. soldier who was stationed at the time of her birth in Heidelberg. At the age of five she began in Alaska with the figure skating. When she was following the Olympic victory of Tara Lipinski on television in 1998, the desire grew in her to be able to participate in the Olympic Games.

In 2008, Wagner won the bronze medal at the U.S. Championships and thus qualified for the first time for a Four Continents Championships and the World Cup. In their debuts there they finished eighth, or 16th place.

In January 2012, Ashley Wagner was the first time U.S. champion in San Jose, California. In February, she won the gold medal at the Four Continents Championships in Colorado Springs. She improved her personal best in all segments and achieved a total score of 192.41 points. At the world championships in Nice, they finished fourth.

At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi Wagner was able to achieve a 7th place. They stood at 193.20 points in free skating ( 127.99 points) and short program ( 63.21 points) just below her personal best.

Wagner starts for the SC of Wilmington. From 2008 to 2011, she was coached by Priscilla Hill. In summer 2011, she moved to John Nicks.

Unlike most figure skaters, Wagner has their jumps and spins in the clockwise direction. You already landed triple - triple combinations in the competition.
