Ashraf Dehghani

Ashraf Dehghani (Persian اشرف دهقانی Ashraf Dehghani, born 1948 in Tabriz, Iran) is widely the most famous communist Iran and member of the Volksfedajin guerrilla Iran ( iPFG ).

Life

In 1971, Dehghani along with her brother Behrouz Dehghani, and other people organizing the Volksfedajin guerrilla Iran ( OFPG ). It was a short time later arrested and tortured by the Iranian secret service SAVAK. Two years later, she managed to escape. She then wrote her book Torture and Resistance in Iran. In 1979 she resigned from the OFPG and founded the Volksfedajin guerrilla Iran ( IFPG ). She accused the OFPG to have renounced armed struggle.

Until her escape from Iran in the beginning of the 80s it was agitator among workers and peasants during the revolution in Tehran and Tabriz later in Kurdistan.

Today Dehghani lives as opposition leader at an undisclosed location in exile.
