Ashur-dan I
Ashur dān I. ( " Ashur is mighty " ) was the son of Ninurta apil - Ekur and ruled by the Assyrian King List 61 years.
Around 1160 BC, there was a battle against Zababa - šuma - iddina of Babylon. Ashur dān conquered the cities of Zaban, Irriya, Ugarsallu and ( more broken ) and brought rich booty to Assyria ( Synchronistic History II 9-12).
After the synchronistic king list ruled Ashur dān simultaneously with the Kassite kings Marduk - apla - iddina I., Zababa - šum - iddina and Enlil -nadin- ahi. His successor was Ninurta Tukulti - Ashur, but reigned only briefly.
His son was Ninurta Tukulti - Ashur. Muttakil - Nusku, his brother, fought with him and forced him to flee to Babylon, while he himself remained on the throne ( Khorsabad List iii 31-36).
Buildings
Ashur - Dan built a canal in Ashur. After the broken obelisk he was 30 years dry before renewed him another Assyrian king.
