Asian Le Mans Series

The Asian Le Mans Series is a discharged since 2009 racing series for Le Mans Prototypes and Gran Turimos. It is organized by the Automobile Club de l' Ouest (ACO ) and is the Asian equivalent of the Le Mans Series and the American Le Mans Series. It is the successor to the 2006 and 2007 from the SERO ( Sports Car Endurance Race Operation) organized Japan Le Mans Challenge.

History

Already in 2008, to be held in November, the first event for the Asian Le Mans Series at the Shanghai International Circuit. This was canceled.

For 2009, two racing events were planned. The second championship race in Shanghai was canceled again. Thus, only the event in Okayama on 31 October and 1 November counted as part of the World Touring Car Championship to the championship. Here are two 500 - km races were run. The runs were won by Sora Racing ( Pescarolo - Judd ) and Aston Martin Racing ( Lola - Aston Martin LMP1 ).
