Asipovichy

Assipowitschy ( weißruss. Асіповічы; Russian Осиповичи ) is a city in the Republic of Belarus in the Mahiljouskaja Woblasz with around 35,000 inhabitants.

Geography

The city is located in the center of the country on the road from Minsk to Gomel about 50 kilometers north-west of Bobruisk. North of the river runs Assipowitschy Swislatsch, extended here to a reservoir.

History

The city was founded in 1872.
