Askam (trucks)

Askam is a Turkish manufacturer of commercial vehicles.

History

1964 Chrysler started the production of trucks in Turkey. There under the brands De Soto, Dodge and Fargo were produced.

1978 Chrysler sold its Turkish subsidiary to domestic investors. The company was renamed Chrysler Kamyon. When Chrysler was acquired by Daimler -Benz, Chrysler wanted to even sell vehicles in Turkey under their name. Therefore Chrysler Kamyon was not allowed to use the Dodge brand.

2002 Chrysler Kamyon from the company Askam Kamyon.

Today, minibuses and pickup trucks are sold under its own name. Under the brand Fargo vans and heavy-duty trucks are offered. The traditional Hood vehicles are sold under the brand De Soto.
