Askeaton

Askeaton ( Irish: Eas Géitine ) is a city in County Limerick in the southwest of Ireland.

Askeaton is located about 3 km upstream of the mouth of the River Shannon on the banks of the River Deel in the north of the county of Limerick, about 10 km east of Foynes on the national road N69 from Limerick City to Tralee in County Kerry. From Askeaton Limerick City is about 30 km away. The population of the town was established in the Census 2011 with 1,841 people.
