Askold Ivanovich Vinogradov

Askold Ivanovich Vinogradov (Russian Аскольд Иванович Виноградов, English transcription Askol'd Ivanovich Vinogradov, * 1929, † 31 December 2005) was a Russian mathematician who worked on analytic number theory.

Vinogradov was busy in St. Petersburg at the Steklov Institute. He is one of the namesake with the Bombieri Enrico Bombieri - Vinogradov theorem, an important set of analytic number theory. It was proved by methods of the Great sieve of Yuri Linnik.
