Aslanbek Khushtov

Aslanbek Vitalyevich Chuschtow (Russian Асланбек Витальевич Хуштов; born July 1, 1980 in Beloglinka, Kabardino -Balkaria ) is a Russian wrestler. It was in 2008 in Tampere European champion and Beijing Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling in the heavyweight division.

Career

Aslanbek Chuschtow comes from the Russian republic of Kabardino -Balkaria. He started as a teenager in 1993 with the rings. Throughout his career he had Mikhail Gamzin, Yuri Bitokow and Anzor Kardanow as a coach. He is a member of "Gladiator " Nalchik, 1.80 m tall and weighs about 95 kg. He focuses exclusively on the Greco- Roman style.

Aslanbek Chuschtow required relatively long in the face of strong competition in Russia until he pushed forward to the Russian top class and also came to missions at international championships. In the Russian national team, he was admitted in 2004. In 2005 he competed in the Grand Prix of Germany in Dortmund in the light heavyweight and finished behind Olympic champion Hamza Yerlikaya from Turkey and Fritz Aanes from Norway 3rd place. In the same year he joined also the " Pytlasiński " tournament in Ratibor, where he finished behind Lajos Viragh from Hungary, but ahead of Ramas Nosadse from Georgia, the 3rd place.

2006 Aslanbek Chuschtow Russian master was used in the light heavyweight and at the World Championships this year in Guangzhou, China. There he met in his first fight on Rama Nosadse, where he was defeated on points (1:3 rounds). Since Nosadse eliminated in the quarterfinals, Aslanbek Chuschtow did not come to the losers round and reached the final account only the 20th Place.

In 2007 Aslanbek Chuschtow achieved very good results in some international tournaments and at the Military World Championship in Hyderabad. So he reached the " Pytlasiński " tournament in Warsaw behind both Hungary Balázs Kiss and Laszlo Viragh the 3rd place, reached at the Hungarian Grand Prix in Szombathely behind Balázs Kiss and former world champion Jimmy Lidberg of Sweden the same place and was also in the Military world Championship behind Mehmet Ozal of Turkey and Georgios Konstantinidis from Greece third winner.

In 2008 he won the " Ivan Poddubny " tournament in Moscow, the competition in the light heavyweight before his compatriots Vasily Teplochow and Maksim Safarjan. Then took place at the European Championships in Tampere its first use in an international championship. He was able to fully convince and became European Champion with five wins. He proved his good form at the moment in June 2008 when the Grand Prix of Spain abilities when he was champion at light heavyweight before Sarshoghi Hamid from Iran and Jacob Cedergren of Sweden.

At the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing Aslanbek Chuschtow triumphed over asset Mambetow from Kazakhstan, Daigoro Timoncini from Italy, Mindaugas Ezerskis from Lithuania, Marek Švec from the Czech Republic and in the final battle as with the European Championships in Tampere over Mirko Englich on points and thus became Olympic champion.

The year 2009 started very successfully for Aslanbek Chuschtow, because he was in Vilnius with four wins in a superior style of European champions. In the semifinals, he won it over Marek Švec and in the final over Mindaugas Ezerskis, two wrestlers, whom he had defeated in Beijing. At the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark, he began with wins over David Vala, Czech Republic, Rama Nosadse, Georgia and Serkan Oezden, Turkey. It was striking how these opponents had no chance against him. In the semifinals he met Jimmy Lidberg Sweden, which he obviously underestimated. Lidberg made ​​Aslanbek Chuschtow energetic resistance and managed to defeat this 2-1 rounds with 7:7 points, close on points. Thus, only winning a bronze medal was possible for this. This he picked up then with a - again very high - point victory over Sergei Jeroschkin from Ukraine.

At the European Championships 2010 in Baku Aslanbek Chuschtow was then vastly superior to its competitors again. He won the European Championship with victories over Sabuchi Humbatow, Azerbaijan, Soso Jabidse, Georgia, Andrzej Deberny, Poland and Timofei Dseinitschenko. He scored 8-0 round gains and 28:0 points. At the World Championships 2010 in Moscow, he succeeded but again failed to win the title. He defeated in Moscow initially Alda Lukosaitis from Lithuania, asset Mambetow, Kazakhstan and Robert Papp, Romania convincingly on points, but lost in the semifinals against the Iranian newcomer Amir Ali Akbari just on points. With a win over David Saldadse but he was able to secure the bronze medal again. Amir Ali Akbari was a few weeks later, however, convicted and locked of doping.
