Asım Akin

Asim Akin ( born 1940 in Istanbul) is a Turkish professor and author.

He attended St. Joseph High School in Istanbul and studied at the University of Istanbul and at the Medical School Çapa. He received his doctorate at the University of Ankara. He was also a Fellow in 1975 and 1982 as a professor. From 1976 to 1977 he worked temporarily at the University of Paris. In 1978 he founded at the University of Ankara, the scientific department of nuclear medicine.

Akin is married and father of two children.

Freemasonry

Akin is a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Turkey and as such, a Freemason. He was from 2005 to 2007, the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge.

Akin announced in a press release after his election as Grand Master in reference to the government of the AKP, that he was not about to worry, that are in Turkey people in power, who were in the past against Freemasonry.
