Aspenstedt is a district of the city of Halberstadt in the district of Harz, in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

The town is located south of Huy on the main road 79 between Halberstadt and Dardesheim.

History

The first mention was in the year 1084. Aspenstedt belonged to the diocese of Halberstadt, which was built in 1648 converted into a principality. The place was directly subordinated to the Office Zilly - Mulmke and arrived in 1815 at the Magdeburg Region of the Prussian Province of Saxony.

On 1 January 2010, until then independent municipality Aspenstedt was incorporated together with the communities Athenstedt, Long Stone, Sargstedt and Ströbeck in the city of Halberstadt.

The coat of arms was approved on 24 March 2009 by the county.

Blazon: " Argent, three of green mountain growing a green aspen with catkin, below the tree crown accompanied by two rising red kites, the three mountain covered with a silvery fountain. "

The colors of the local part are green - white.

The tree in the coat of arms depicts a stylized aspen and makes reference to an earlier official seal. The kites refer to the frequent occurrence of these birds of prey. The swelling on the three mountain symbolizes the origin of the aces creek, which rises here.

The coat of arms was designed by the Magdeburg Kommunalheraldiker Jörg Mantzsch.

Flag

The flag was approved on 3 August 2009 by the county.

The flag is green - white ( 1:1) striped ( cross- shape: strips horizontally extending, longitudinal shape: strip running vertically ) and centrally occupied with the municipal coat of arms.
