Asperjoc

Asperjoc is a commune of 420 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in Ardèche, in the Rhône -Alpes. The inhabitants are called Asperjocois and Asperjocoises.

Geography

The community is made up of many scattered places and is surrounded by the green, forested mountain ranges of the Cevennes. It is part of the Regional Natural Park of Monts d' Ardèche. Asperjoc located in the valley of the rivers Bezorgues and Volane and is bounded by a mountainous massif of the surrounding communities Vals- les- Bains and Ucel. The nearest major town is Aubenas is five miles from the east.

History

The town was first mentioned in the 12th century.

In the 13th century the town was administered by two owners before the village was the property of Antraigues family from the 17th century.

In the second half of the 19th century step by step factories were built for the processing of wool, so that the place at times had up to eleven mills.

Culture and sights

Featured buildings in the community are the church of the 19th century, and the chapels of Autagnet and Pont -de- Bridou.

Special Attractions in nature, set the Cascade de la Chaise du Diable ( Devil cascade of the chair) and various iron-containing water sources dar.

Economy and infrastructure

A part of the population works in agriculture.

1946, a magnesium-containing mineral called La Reine des basalt was by Marius Veyrenc discovered and dismantled. It is intended to stimulate digestion.
