Asri Muda

Datuk Mohamad Asri Muda (different forms of the name, including Sri Datuk Haji Mohd Asri bin Haji Muda - " Datuk ", " Sri " and " Haji " are honorary title ); Born October 10, 1923 in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia; † August 28, 1992 in Kuala Lumpur ) was a Malaysian politician and long-time chairman of the Parti Islam Se - Malaysia ( PAS).

Life

Datuk Asri did not get beyond a Malay primary school education, but then worked alternately as a school teacher and journalist for Malay media. After the end of World War II in the Pacific, he engaged, inspired by the Islamic modernization and success of the national revolution in Indonesia, radical political groups of Malaya. He joined in 1953 the Parti Islam Se - Malaysia ( Islamic Party of Malaysia total ) in and climbed up the career ladder quickly upwards. In 1959, he was able to form the state government in Kelantan after the general elections. Between 1959 and 1974, Datuk Asri was continuously elected to state and federal parliaments. In 1964 he became chairman of the PAS and at the same time Chief Minister of Kelantan. When the PAS Barisan Nasional in January 1973 ( National Front ) joined, Datuk Asri was from his post in the country and Kelantan became Federal Minister for Lands and special assignments.

The political connection between PAS and the National Front was short-lived, and in 1978 was the United Malays National Organization ( UMNO ) win the majority of votes in Kelantan. 1982 Datuk Asri was forced by young MPs to resign, who were disappointed by the results of his political work.

After his resignation, founded Datuk Asri the party Parti Hiskul Muslim Malaysia ( Hamim ), but he could not achieve political success with her.
