Assenoncourt

Assenoncourt ( German Esse village, 1940-44 Hesseldorf ) is a commune with 131 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Moselle in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the district Sarrebourg and Canton Réchicourt -le- Château.

Geography

Assenoncourt is located southeast of the pond Linder ( Etang de Lindre ) and about 20 kilometers west of Sarrebourg at an altitude 210-253 m above sea level. The municipality covers 16.69 km ². The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Lorraine.

The municipality also something of south west district Vill heard ( hamlet ).

History

The village was known in the 18th century as Essestroff and belongs since 1766 to France.
