Assevillers
Assevillers ( Picard: Asvilé ) is a northern French village with 289 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality belongs to the canton Chaulnes and is part of the Communauté de communes de Haute Picardie.
Geography
The community is located approximately eight kilometers south-west of Peronne and is intersected in its eastern part of the Autoroute A1 with two large rest areas ( Aires d'Asse Villers ) and the parallel -run high-speed rail route of the LGV Nord.
History
The municipality received the Croix de guerre as a distinction from 1914 to 1918.
