Assize of Arms of 1181

The Assize of arms (of Assizes, a result of a medieval solemn assembly, were settled on the legal issues and English arms = arms ) was a 1181 by King Henry II enacted reform of the military organization, a sort of conscription law. To distinguish it from an also Assize of Arms mentioned extension of the decree of 1252 it is also known as Assize of Arms of 1181.
