Asso is a municipality with 3652 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the Italian province of Como in the Lombardy region. She is one of 31 municipalities of the Comunità montana del Larian Triangle.
Culture and sights
- From the built in the 12th century castle only the tower is well preserved.
- The Church of St John the Baptist was built in 1641-1675.
- Some bridges over the river Lambro, for example, Punt de la Fola, Punt di Gubitt and Ponte Oscuro are also worth seeing.
The council includes in addition to the Mayor Maria Giulia Manzeni, who was elected in April 2008, 16 other members.
Asso is twinned with the French town of Saint -Péray in the department of Ardèche since 2001.
