Associated Aviation was founded in 1996.

Incidents
On 3 October 2013, EMB -120 crashed with the registration 5N - BJY shortly after taking off from Lagos airport to Akure. 15 of 20 people on board were killed. On board the charter flight SCD -361 were located next to the 7 crew of 15 family members and the coffin of Governor Olusegun Agagu. One of the five surviving passengers was the son of the governor. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority ( NCAA) has all the flights of the airline suspended until further notice, because it was found that the airline was not insured under the ICAO guidelines.
