Association for Progressive Communications

The Association for Progressive Communications ( APC) is an international network of organizations, people and groups through the provision of communications, infrastructure support and are committed to social justice, peace, environmental protection, human rights. APC is a non- profit organization and one of the first organizations that nudged the Clearing House Mechanism on International level.

The APC was founded in 1990. The founding organizations were

  • The Institute for Progressive Communications (IGC ), San Francisco
  • GreenNet, London
  • Web Networks, Toronto, Canada
  • Pegasus, Sydney

The APC members were among the first providers of online services in their respective countries. Between 1992 and 2000, the APC was active as a service provider for the computer infrastructure for NGOs in major UN conferences.
