Association for Psychological Science

The Association for Psychological Science (APS ) was (next to the American Psychological Association) founded in 1988 as the American Psychological Society and other major psychologists organization of the United States. It got its present name on 1 January 2006, to point out the scientific mission and the international scope clearly.

It now has 18,500 members from the U.S. and abroad. It combines a scientific organization, especially for basic and application-oriented research in the field of psychology. Since 2002, outstanding international psychologists are increasingly won as members under the slogan "Psychology around the world".

The APS are four periodicals: Psychological Science, Current Directions in Psychological Science, Psychological Science in the Public Interest, Perspectives on Psychological Science.

Every year since 1989 a congress as " APS Annual Convention " took place in 2008 when 20tes anniversary in Chicago.
