Association of the Three Rivers communes

The Communauté de communes des Vosges méridionales is a municipal merger ( Communauté de communes ) of three communities in the department of Vosges in Lorraine.

The Local Government Association has 6334 inhabitants ( 2007) 117.2 km ², representing a population density of 54 inhabitants per km ².

The Communauté de communes des Vosges méridionales lies in the transition region between the Vosges and Voge in the extreme south of Lorraine. It was founded on 27 December 1996 under the name Comunauté de communes des Trois Rivières. The eponymous Rivers ( Trois Rivières = Three Rivers ) were the Augronne that Combeauté and Semouse that belong to the catchment area of ​​the Rhône ( outflows over Lanterne, Saône to the Rhône). With effect from 7 December 2009, the Local Government Association was changed to the currently valid name. The entire area of the Municipal Association is part of the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges.

Seat of the Association is the town of Le Val- D'Ajol, president of the local association Jean Marie Manen who officiates also as Mayor of Girmont -Val- D'Ajol.

The Local Government Association was created to combine the material resources of the community and to coordinate economic development. To the field of the local association includes the planning and the cross-community economic development. The Communauté de communes des Vosges méridionales has also set a goal to work closely in the fields of culture sports and educational facilities, maintenance of roads, public transport, housing, environmental protection, waste disposal.
